FAQs

iZon® High Resolution Lenses

How do iZon High Resolution Lenses differ from other high performance lenses on the market?

iZon Lenses are the only lenses on the market that are customized based on the iPrint™ of the eye itself. They are based on the unique wavefront map and address the problems associated with both lower and higher order aberrations (2nd-6th) of the eye.

What is the difference between iZon High Resolution Lenses and other wavefront glasses I have heard about?

iZon High Resolution Lenses are the only spectacle lenses that address the vision problems associated with the unique aberrations of the eye. Higher order aberrations of the eye can cause the lack of crispness and clarity of vision.

Which higher orders are you actually measuring and addressing?

The Z-View® Aberrometer measures from the 2nd to the 6th level of the Zernike Polynomial chart, which comprise the iPrint. Among these are coma, trefoil and spherical aberrations. Our unique mathematical algorithm translates the iPrint into a unique wavefront prescription for the iZon Lens.

Is the iZon Lens only about higher order correction?

No. The iZon Lens optimizes vision by addressing both lower and higher order (2nd-6th) aberrations of the eye.

What are the functional vision benefits with iZon Lenses?

iZon High Resolution Lenses have been proven to improve nighttime driving performance. In nighttime driving tests, using an FDA-validated simulator, iZon Lens wearers traveling at 55 MPH under glare conditions improved driving reaction by an average of 20 feet.

Why do iZon Lenses allow wearers to see better when driving at night?

iZon Lenses are the only lenses customized to the iPrint, addressing vision problems associated with higher order aberrations such as glare, starbursts, comets and other light distortions.

Are the lenses as effective during the day as they are at night?

Absolutely. iZon Lenses give wearers High-Definition vision day and night. Wearers say their vision is clearer, sharper, more vivid and, they see with greater depth and dimension both during the day and at night.

Will optical labs produce the iZon Lens?

Initially, to ensure highest quality, Ophthonix will manufacture all Lens orders.

Are there specific frame requirements for the iZon High Resolution Lenses?

iZon Lenses fit most modern style frames and can be drill mounted.

Do iZon Lenses come with AR coatings?

Yes. The iZon Lens is 1.6 index and comes standard with UV-blocking and includes the following premium coatings: index-matched scratch-resistant, anti-reflective, and super-hydrophobic.

When will iZon High Resolution Lenses be available in my area?

Many patients are already enjoying the benefits of High-Definition vision from their iZon Lenses. Please contact sales@iZonlens.com regarding availability in your area.

iZon Lenses - Progressives

Do you offer Progressive Addition Lenses?

Yes. The iZon High Resolution Progressive is a customized lens powered by the patient’s unique iPrint as well as their lifestyle, which results in quick adaptation. The lenses allow for maximized far performance, or overall far, near and intermediate performance.

What are the Power Ranges for the iZon Progressive Lens?

The iZon Progressive covers over 90% of all Presbyopes • Sphere: -8.00D to +5.00D in • Cylinder: plano to -4.00D • Add: +0.75 to +3.50D.

What is the Patient Profile for the iZon High Resolution Progressive?

Customized correction is the right choice for most vision corrected patients. Particularly patients with higher order aberrations. Both emerging Presbyopes and current PAL wearers, who have switched to iZon Lenses, are enjoying the benefit of High-Definition vision.

How does a practitioner determine if a patient should be prescribed to wear iZon High Resolution Lenses?

Included in the Z-View® Aberrometer software is a proprietary algorithm, algiZon™, which automatically profiles patients based upon their higher order measurements and identifies if they are “good candidates for the iZon Single Vision Lens." All progressive lens wearers are candidates.

How does the iZon Lens deal with the gaze angle shift?

The iZon Lens design emphasizes the most prominent symmetrical higher order aberrations of the eye – i.e., spherical aberrations. This design mitigates the sensitivity to off-axis vision as the gaze angle shifts, resulting in a high level of patient preference. As with conventional lenses, there is a drop in vision performance as the eye shifts into the periphery of the lens.

High-Definition vision

What is High-Definition vision?

High-Definition vision is a term iZon wearers have used to describe their experience. iZon Lenses deliver customized and optimized vision; that means clearer, sharper, more vivid vision than was ever before possible. More than simply improving visual acuity, iZon Lenses improve the quality of vision. As a practitioner you are well aware that there is a broad range of quality in patients’ vision when corrected to 20/20. This is largely due to the inability of conventional lenses to address the problems associated with higher order aberrations of the eye.
